Qualification Review
As you may be aware, the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) has now been removed. The QCF had some benefits and of course some limitations. A benefit for some was shared units. You could take a qualification with one awarding organisation knowing that, if the qualification had the same units, the qualification would have the same content at another AO.
This of course also had its limitations as it could prevent the development of fit for purpose qualifications.
Now that the QCF and its rules have been removed, Awarding Organisations now individually “own” the previously shared units and we are therefore in a position of more flexibility to amend qualifications to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
As QNUK is at the centre of the first aid and safety training community we want to reach out to get you opinions on these common qualifications.
You may not have delivered the QNUK qualification as you may be with another AO that uses the same units, however as a "User of the qualification" we value your opinion, afterall why shouldn’t you have a voice in what you offer?
We are currently reviewing 6 of our qualifications and would value your opinion on any that you have experience with.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a national review?
No, each awarding organisation is responsible for keeping their qualifications under review. We are reviewing OUR qualifications at the moment.
Does this mean my Awarding organisation is going to change this qualification?
No, This is a review of QNUK qualifications and will simply help us to ensure our qualification is fit for purpose.
I am with a different AO, does this matter?
No. We are aiming to get as wide a view on these qualifications as we can. This will help us at QNUK to identify if the qualifications we offer meet the needs of our users and potential users.
Is this a joint consultation across awarding organisations?
No, Each awarding organisation is responsible for keeping its qualifications under review. Some may have recently reviewed their qualifications, others may be doing so in the future. How they do this is also up to them. They may simply consult with a few key centres or they may have exisiting "user focus groups" for this purpose.
Will my AO get this information?
No we don't have agreements in place with other AO's. As mentioned each AO will have their own review method and will capture their own evidence. We also do not know which awarding organisation you are with in order to share this.
